Joe, Brad and Tommy give the Knicks' preseason one final recap before getting into what to expect for the 2022-2023 season. Just how good can RJ Barrett be? The positive impact that Jalen Brunson's leadership will have and Tommy gives some insight about how Jalen was sculpting his demeanor at a young age. Julius Randle and Brunson working together and Julius' willingness to give the ball up more. Immanuel Quickley and Cam Reddish both disappointing in extended time. Obi Toppin!! And the excitement he gives even in limited playing time. Then they preview the year using the Knicks' over/under as a barometer and whether they can beat Vegas' projected win total and place in the standings. Has Obi Toppin officially dunked his way into Thibs heart and playing over 20 minutes a game every night? Should we view Obi the same way we’ve come to view IQ/Evan/Rose RJ leading the starters in both shot attempts and points both games - shooting over 50% from 3 but below 42% from 2 (5/5 from the stripe is cool tho) It’s been a noticable thing in the past couple years for baseball that pitchers watch game tape and film of other pitchers to try to take pitches they really like and add them to their own repertoire. I bring this up to ask if RJ can really get a feel for how Brunson finishes around the rim or is there anyone else around the league that you see that isn’t the biggest/strongest/most athletic finisher that he can add to his own finishing bag other guys that finish well down low without having the length of a mitchell Robinson or the hops of an obi toppin. Jalen’s control and guiding of the offense and into offensive sets. Will Randle be okay with this come the regular season or do you think he’ll revert back to F1 category tornado spin move into double teams Randle Has Cam officially wasted his opportunity to get into the rotation? Why hasn’t he put it together, and why does someone that can’t stay in a 10 man rotation on now his second team seem to have such a passionate group of fans?

The Knicks are 3-4 since the all star break, but the 3 wins are all in a row. Joe and Burt dive into what has helped the Knicks flip a switch (hint: It’s playing the younger, hungrier teammates.) Deuce McBride is getting minutes and making a major +/- impact. Cam Reddish missing the next 4-6 weeks is breaking news on the pod, but the schedule is about to soften up. Can the Knicks go 10-6 or better and sneak into the playoff game behind RJ Barrett and 2020-21 Julius Randle?

Big Knick Energy Episode 35 - All-Star Dunk Contest Weekend OVER! Can the Knicks take the heat? (The Answer is No.)
Burt and Joe are back to discuss the only positive that we’ve had in a while with Obi winning the dunk contest. The positivity is short lived however as they jump into Kemba sitting for the rest of the season, what the Knicks lineups will look like now, and Derrick Rose’s fake impact. Burt sees the Knicks going 7-2 out of the break (hopelessly optimistic) while Joe sees 3-6 (maybe even still too optimistic.)

The trade deadline goes by and the Knicks still have Burks, Fournier and Kemba. There is no Jalen Brunson or Goran Dragic walking through the door. Joe and Burt a.k.a SLICER talk about why fans should be optimistic with the Knicks not making a move. They mention other trades that happened throughout the league briefly before Joe talks about going to Ball Arena in Denver where he saw Nuggets-Knicks.
Slicer then talks about his Ashley Moss vs. Julito McCollum video blowing up and the points both parties were trying to make, which brings up how fans are towards their own and opposing players in arenas and on social media. They finish up with what they expect coming up and whether the Knicks should compete for the play-in or tank the season.

The Knicks have been getting roughed up this week. The Hornets stung, the Wolves bit, and the Pelicans pecked and we just moaned and complained to the refs and each other in response.
